First blog: Technopoly

SO! First post, and we have to talk about our class and our thoughts on technology. In our class we are researching technology and the effect certain inventions have on our society. We are using texts to see these effects too, with the book "Technopoly" by Neil Postman, where he comments on the process of "modernization" and how technology has almost become a theocracy for the world. We recently received a challenge to not use technology for a day or two. There are 7 different challenge levels, and they range from only not using your mp3 player and internet, to hardcore 1800s style, no electricity, no plumbing, no running water or anything. I was thinking of camping out in the woods for two days and a night, with the least amount of technology as possible. Other than that...thats it for the first.
